Well, I had so much fun on the trip that I was flying to on the day that I drew these, that I forgot to make this post! Better late than never! :)

I like that despite using a reference photo, this illustration still comes across as messy and playful, and the face is stylized. Having that sort of frantic, imperfect element to these drawings is important to me.
Luckily I’m no stranger to lugging my phone tripod around the house to film and photograph myself lol.
This comic ended up receiving over twice the amount of impressions and engagement than anything I’ve posted in the last six months!! It may be my only post that has ever ended up on the explore page.
There has to be at least one over exaggerated anime expression lol.
Confession: I “cheated” on this one. I had already drawn most of my desk the day before as I was determining my canvas and brush set up.
The drawing of Daniel in the first panel is one of my favorites🥰 even his weird bear paw instead of a human hand lol.
When I drew myself in this pose, I had the feeling like, “Okay, I’m really warmed up now.” I knew that once I got to the airport, I’d have several hours of being in the zone. And I think next time I go on a plane I might be a weird Squishmallow girl.
I love drawing people at the airport.
I think it’s so interesting that I only used color to illustrate the sunrise and sunset. I didn’t realize it until later when I looked back at all the drawings together in my IG grid. The bright orange light coming through the airplane windows only lasted a few minutes. I was grateful that I was in this mindful documentarian headspace and was able to capture it.
And yes, I was getting a little sick of autobiographical drawing, so I created some fan art.
My last (exhausted) drawing from the day, at about 10 pm. I didn’t really capture the likeness of these two but that’s not the point. I’m so proud of this collection of drawings!
I love allll this! Keep it going! Love you!❤️⭐️🤩
